#1.6 Agarikon Mushroom Tincture

This ‘Elixir of Life’ adaptogenic mycomedicinal tonic has been long revered by many Shamanic lineages from around the world as a ‘Totem of Protection’. Acting as immune modulating, anti-viral, anti-bacterial, it also has been used with ‘ailments believed to be of supernatural origin’.

It is known as the ‘Bread of Ghosts Mushroom'.

Ingredients: Agarikon mushroom (Fomitopsis officinalis)

Agarikon is particularly good for treating shortness of breath, wheezing and asthmatic conditions. It fortifies the lungs and strengthens the stomach. In Unani medicine (Arabic traditional medicine) it is used for coughs, colds, asthma and as an expectorant. Extracts of Agarikon have been used to treat facial paralysis, epilepsy and as a brain tonic for melancholia. It also reduces excessive sweating, arrests vomiting and has been used as a remedy for hemorrhoids. 

Agaric (one compound found in Agarikon) has shown strong activity against cowpox, influenza B, H1N1 (swine flu), avian flu and yellow fever. Many people have reported taking Agarikon while infected with Covid-19 and reported great success (though it has not been studied for this specifically). 

Agarikon primarily grows in Old Growth forests. As such a powerful medicine, it is yet another reason we should protect ancient tress.
